Hello, I am Hazel 😊I am a Taipei-based Product Designer who grew up in a beautiful island in the Pacific Ocean. My work mainly focuses on interaction design such as user flows, wireframing and prototyping, creating Product Illustrations and playing with HTML/CSS are also my hobbies 💻.
Reading, learning new things, and physical training are also my passion. One of my recent read is The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World and a skill I’ve also learned is React. Last but not least, I owe my life to two tuxedo cats 😻.
My two bosses: Gua(Left) and Dai(Right).
How I became a designer six years ago is quite a unique story.
I used to major in Japanese literature back in college. I decided to pursue a graduate degree in design but was lacked of practical design experience until I got an internship during my second year in graduate school. However, I realized my studies on User Interface “Research" did not suit my desire to become a product designer. Therefore, I decided to step out of my comfort zone, join a start-up company and explore who I am as a designer. That was the beginning of my career.
Since then, I’ve contributed to some startups in Taiwan and China such as POP (aquired by Marvel) and Wiredcraft. I’ve also expanded my design reservoir by collaborating with startups as a freelancer in order to help them create their products. 2016, I joined GitLab as their remote UX Designer. Working at GitLab was a fantastic experience, my colleagues and boss are talented, supportive, and creative. I've learned so much from them and I truly appreciate their support.
